Meet Rachel Bower

Rachel stepped into my life fourteen years ago as a strong, determined young nurse with a heart of gold.

The moment she reconnected with Joe Bower, her childhood friend, was the beginning of significant changes in her life. She helped Sergeant Bower and Detective Simms clear her cousin's name. This experience was the beginning of a major career change.

Working alongside Joe and Jerry, she realized she wanted to get justice for all the victims, something she’s carried with her since she was a young child living on the streets with her mom.

Her childhood was harsh, leaving numerous scars in its wake. The pain toughened her up, shaping her for her life’s work, her true calling: the reason she is so determined to solve every case that comes across her desk despite the personal cost.

With the sergeants' and detectives' help, she excelled in her police academy exams. She made detective in a little under four years, becoming sergeant three years later when Jerry’s health issues forced him to step down; she swiftly became the core of the Berryville PD family.

Rachel's and Joe’s relationship began when they were young, shortly after she moved in with her dad. From the very first day they met, Rachel and Joe formed a strong bond, becoming inseparable soon after.

Everyone assumed they’d marry, but life had different plans. Then the murder case reconnected them, stirring up old feelings they both had but didn’t dare express. Not until Joe blurts out that he loved her in haste. Fourteen years later, the couple have three children. Joe Jr., Lulu, and Noah.

Rachel didn’t just come to life; no, she claimed her place in my stories and in my heart.
